We offer Basic, Intermediate, and Expert log home building courses for anyone at any level of log home building! We personalize our training so that every learner at our school comes away with an in-depth understanding of the materials covered. There’s no substitution for the experience gained from the hands-on learning we provide.

Learning Environment

In the Coyote Yard, you will be working side-by-side with master log home craftsmen who have spent years refining their skills. With large building projects constantly underway at Coyote, your instructors will not only describe log home building techniques, they will show you on real projects.

As North-Eastern America’s leading log home builder, we will give you access to state-of-the art equipment and facilities. Taking advantage of top tier tools will allow you to work quicker, work safer, and progress further into your project.

Finally, don’t forget the view. The Coyote yard is located in a forest clearing just steps from the lake in the heart of woodland Ontario.  We believe there is no more appropriate environment for building log homes.

Safety

Safety is always the first priority on any project at the Coyote Log Home School. At the beginning of the course, students are given a comprehensive tour and instruction on yard safety policies, tool safety rules, and safety apparel requirements.

Policies include but are not limited to:

• Wearing Hard-Hats at all times
• Using Eye and Ear Protection
• Proper Safety Boots
• Extensive Chainsaw policy.
• Proper Log Fastening
• Tools are replaced to the rack after use

Accommodations

There are many accommodation options in and around the historic town of Barry’s Bay. School administration can help you determine a residence while attending the school.

• Pleasure Point Cottages - $400-500 / week
• Blue Moon Retreat - $500-600 / week
• Red Deer Lodge and Campground - $350–600 / Week, Tent or Trailer - $150-175 / week
